Explanation

One day, a letter of forewarning was delivered to our museum:

"Tonight, I shall steal the piece that was scheduled for exhibition in your museum. – Cul-de-sac, Master Thief"

Cul-de-sac is suspected to be involved in the infamous "Disappearance of the 666th Vermilion Torii Gate and Its Replacement with a Replica," which caused an uproar across Arukuni. Furthermore, the thief is believed to have stolen the "Ancient Dragon Horn," unearthed in the Ancient Dragon Valley and temporarily exhibited in the central market of Kanokuni's Gypsia district, replacing it with a masterfully crafted replica. These incidents reveal Cul-de-sac’s cunning nature: the thief exclusively targets relics with historical significance that could offer profound insights, leaving behind replicas in their place.

What remains most baffling, however, is Cul-de-sac’s apparent ability to traverse freely between Arukuni and Kanokuni—a feat considered impossible for ordinary beings. This ability, akin to that of our museum staff, led us to conclude that preventing the theft would be nearly impossible. Thus, the museum opted to allow the theft to occur, using the replica left behind to analyze and uncover clues about the enigmatic thief's identity.

As anticipated, on the appointed night, Cul-de-sac replaced the original artifact with an exceptionally detailed replica and disappeared without a trace.

This special exhibit showcases a collection of tracks inspired by the findings from our analysis of the replica, revealing new facets of the elusive Cul-de-sac's identity.

Incidentally, according to the museum guard who caught a fleeting glimpse of the thief during their escapade, Cul-de-sac may have a surprisingly playful side. "They’re oddly charming… in their own mischievous way," the guard noted.
